4. Special Note on Receipts, Invoices & Financial Data
We request students to upload receipts or invoices to verify hustle activity. These documents must not include personal information of customers or third parties. Shipping addresses are collected only after verified participation milestones are met and used solely for delivering competition-related materials or grant items.
High School Hustle will:
Redact customer names, phone numbers, emails, and addresses
Students Must:
Only share financial data relevant to their hustle
Never upload payment card details or banking info
HSH does not require or store third-party customer data.
5. Parental Consent & Minor Protections
HSH adheres strictly to COPPA and relevant state laws:
Under 13: Students may not use the HSH platform or submit any personal data.
Ages 13–17: Parental/guardian consent is required during onboarding via our dashboard.
18+: Students may provide consent independently.
For minors, photo/video releases are also collected via the dashboard. Promotional content will not include a minor’s image or name without verified consent.
6. Data Retention
(Recommended placement: toward the end of the Privacy Policy, under a new Section 8 or wherever your current retention info sits.)
High School Hustle retains student data only as long as necessary to operate the program and meet any reporting or legal requirements.
Our retention timelines are as follows:
Basic Info (e.g., name, grade, school): Retained until student graduates or 12 months of inactivity.
Shipping Addresses: Deleted immediately after the shipment of prizes or materials is confirmed.
Tax Documentation: Only applicable to top 10 earners. Documents are reviewed but never stored or archived.
Aggregate Program Statistics (e.g., number of participants, total verified revenue): Retained long term for grant applications, historical analysis, and program impact measurement. These metrics are anonymized and do not contain student names or personal identifiers.
7. Top Earners and Tax Documentation
(Recommended placement: under Section 4 “How We Use Information” or wherever financial verification is referenced.)
Students who rank in the top 10 in total verified revenue may be asked to provide documentation — such as estimated tax payment records or other financial filings — solely to confirm revenue accuracy and prevent fraud.
These documents are reviewed on a one-time basis for eligibility confirmation and are not stored or retained by High School Hustle. Submission of tax documentation is optional, but may be required to claim portions of the $100,000 award pool.
8. Cookies and Analytics
